Agentrics selects Webmetrics to provide performance monitoring for retail industry's largest collaboration platform
San Diego - December 11, 2007 - Webmetrics, a leading provider of web performance monitoring solutions, today announced that Agentrics, a leading solution provider to the world’s largest retailers and their suppliers, has selected its GlobalWatch Services to provide performance monitoring for Agentrics’ on-demand Retail Information and Collaboration Solutions. Agentrics will utilize Webmetrics’ GlobalWatch Services to continually test and measure the availability and performance of its technology platform solutions, which are used to streamline collaborative supply chain processes between 50 of the world’s largest retailers and more than 80,000 of their suppliers.
“Our experience with other performance monitoring services fueled our requirements for an easy-to-use interface, the ability to test dynamic Java and .NET applications, and open data access for custom reporting,” said Kevin Fitzsimmons, Senior Director, Infrastructure and Application Support for Agentrics. “After months of evaluation, Webmetrics’ GlobalWatch proved the ideal solution for our current and future performance management needs. GlobalWatch will provide real-time operational insight and visibility to a variety of internal departments, helping validate the achievement of service level objectives and facilitate a customer-centric response to performance-related incidents.”
Webmetrics’ GlobalWatch will monitor the uptime and performance of all Rich Internet Applications (RIA) that comprise Agentrics’ collaborative platform, including those that facilitate data synchronization, demand chain collaboration, sourcing and procurement, and product lifecycle management. Retailers, manufacturers and suppliers worldwide use Agentrics’ solutions, making the requirement for external monitoring paramount. Webmetrics collects performance data from more than 52 cities across North America, Asia, Africa and Europe, allowing Agentrics to capture a global perspective of its delivered performance and validate that service level objectives are met worldwide. Agentrics has also licensed Webmetrics’ Internal Agent technology, which will be used when additional data points are required from within a particular customer site. The combination of external and internal performance data can serve to better support customers with problem isolation and diagnosis.
Webmetrics performance data will be shared with Agentrics’ customers via monthly reporting. Leveraging Webmetrics’ Data Access API, Agentrics will automate the extraction of performance data from GlobalWatch to streamline the generation of custom, service level reports. Agentrics also plans to integrate Webmetrics’ performance statistics with a number of third-party business analytics tools.
Agentrics has a collaborative implementation strategy for GlobalWatch, with plans to leverage performance statistics across a variety of internal departments. While the service will be managed and primarily utilized by Agentrics’ Infrastructure and Application Support team, which is responsible for maintaining IT resources and resolving escalated (level two) support requests; GlobalWatch data will also be shared with Help Desk and on-site customer teams to provide third-party visibility into the availability of Agentrics solutions. This data allows the various departments to be immediately informed about the issues that may affect user experience, and work proactively towards problem resolution through customer outreach.
“Agentrics is a technology leader that has built one of the most complex multi-partner ecosystems, connecting retailers and manufacturers to their trading partners through web applications,” said Peter Kirwan, Chief Strategy Officer for Webmetrics. “We are honored that Agentrics has selected Webmetrics to be the external performance monitoring partner for its industry-leading technology platform.”
