“Who’s Watching the Watch Dogs?”

Sunnyvale, Calif. - June 24, 2008 - Mu Dynamics, a pioneer in helping network operators and their vendors eliminate downtime through proactive service assurance, announced that Co-founder and CTO Kowsik Guruswamy will speak this week at the 20th Annual FIRST Conference in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The presentation titled, “Who’s Watching the Watch Dogs? Automating Security Audits for Faster, Better and Less Expensive Results,” will be on Thursday, June 26 at 12:10 p.m.

Held June 22-27, at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver, FIRST is the premier organization and recognized global leader in incident response. Attendance, including many of the 100+ Mu Dynamics customer deployments, will include representatives from the more than 180 member teams of FIRST Merrill Lynch, Cisco, Microsoft, Deutsche Bank, Symantec, Citigroup, Siemens, HP, Goldman Sachs, CERT/CC, British Telecom, and Oxford University.

Co-founder and CTO Kowsik Guruswamy will speak this week at the 20th Annual FIRST Conference on the topic: “Who’s Watching the Watch Dogs? Automating Security Audits for Faster, Better and Less Expensive Results.”

WHAT:

Kowsik will discuss several topic areas surrounding the use of Service Analyzers, and how Service Providers proactively identify and eliminate service, application and network downtime caused by DoS and DDoS attacks. Other talking points will include:
  • How any NGN service and product’s attack surface ultimately determines methods by which an attacker enters and potentially causes malicious exploit, downtime or information theft on a network.
  • How to automate security audits for any VoIP, IPTV or IMS-architecture product including network infrastructure security enforcement devices.
