Leading SaaS Infrastructure Provider Deploys Zenoss to Improve Uptime and Reduce Costs
ANNAPOLIS, MD, March 26, 2008 – Zenoss Inc., a leading provider of
open source network and systems management software, today announced
that OpSource, a SaaS delivery company, has deployed Zenoss for Service
Providers. OpSource replaced its incumbent IT management solution with
Zenoss for its cost advantages, ease of use and the quality of its
services team.
OpSource provides the operational infrastructure and application
services that enable companies to offer Web applications on-demand and
software as a service. Faced with the mandate to drive greater
efficiencies into its business through more effective automation,
OpSource recognized that its current IT management solution lacked the
comprehensive functionality it required. Therefore, the company
evaluated alternative IT management products from BMC and Zenoss. After
a thorough analysis, the company selected Zenoss.
“Our legacy IT management solution wasn’t designed specifically to
support service providers interested in going deep into IT Process
Automation,” said Ryan Henley, Director, Operational Process and
Systems at OpSource. “It could not integrate with other applications
via standards-based API's and would not provide access to the stored
monitoring data. Zenoss was more powerful out of the box, much less
expensive and the personalized service we’ve received from the company
has been fantastic. We are seeing integration benefits whose effects
will be felt both internally and externally with our customers.”
With Zenoss, OpSource now has a centralized real-time view of all
customer environments, allowing them to quickly detect, isolate and
resolve potential issues before customers experience performance
degradation or downtime. Zenoss also integrates seamlessly with
complementary systems via standards-based APIs, provides auto discovery
for quickly detecting and cataloging new devices, and manages change
controls at a very fine level of granularity.
OpSource is currently using Zenoss to monitor and manage customer
servers, networks, databases and applications within its UK and
California datacenters. By late summer 2008, Zenoss will also be
deployed in OpSource’s Virginia datacenter, bringing the grand total of
servers monitored to over 1,700, and networks in the several hundreds.
“Service providers have long been frustrated with their IT
management options,” said Bill Karpovich, Co-Founder and CEO of Zenoss.
“The traditional solutions are either too expensive, too rigid, too
complex or too limited. With a new approach we’re able to provide a
solution that finally addresses all of the needs of this growing
market. The result has been a groundswell of interest from service
providers around the world who are delivering a variety of cloud-based
services.”
